Here is one of the toughest questions you can ask yourself, what is the right guitar for you? A Strat? A les Paul? A hollow body? Acoustic? Let’s look at it this way, if you had to have a go-to guitar what would it be?
Examine yourself. What kind of worship bands are you into? Bethel? Planetshakers? Hillsong? Look at their guitarist’s gear and perhaps that can give you some ideas on what type of guitar to invest in.
Next, what is your budget? Look at what is in your price range and narrow it down if you can. Now, I’m not saying that you need to settle, but this can be a great tool in your decision making. You never want to regret buying a guitar with one day maybe having to return it due not sticking to your budget.
This may be a little vain, but pick a guitar that looks good on you! Maybe you enjoy a more compact guitar like a telecaster or you prefer a large hollow body. Or maybe you want to play acoustic rather than electric. This guitar can shape the identity of your musicianship. So make sure you pick one that complements YOU.
This is just a little spill on helping you out with picking a guitar that suits you, your style and budget. Let me know if this helps and what you picked out!
