LEARNING FROM DEFEAT

Knowing that you’ve failed to reach your goals always hurt. Whether it is the slightest or the severe forms of failure, there is always some sting in the loss. We may try again and again only to see failure. With every ounce in our body we give it all to see success but fall short. When will you see victory and goals accomplished? When you finally write a worship song you like? When will you get to travel and worship on the road? I know these questions are specific, but they can translate to almost any situation you are in. In music and in regular life.

Sometimes I forget that I’m not to do this worship and life thing by only relying on myself. Did I forget to wait patiently? Did I forget that He is my strength when I am weak? What am I supposed to do while feeling like this? What am I supposed to do when I feel that no matter how hard I try to accomplish my goals I feel like a failure?

The answer is in His word.

Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.
-Psalms 27:14

Be brave. Be courageous. Be patient. Don’t quit. He knows the desires of your heart and in due time He will see to them. Meanwhile we can say that God is good and faithful. All we need to do is trust in Him. He’ll give you that song to write, or maybe songwriting is something we shouldn’t be doing because He is calling us to other things that have been clouded by our own vision.

If you find yourself in a defeated state, take a moment to speak with Him today:

Lord I stand here defeated but found in the riches of Your love. I offer all I am to you, forgive me for trusting in my own strength when I should trusting You. I will wait, I will be brave. For You make all things work together for my good. Amen.

This is an overflow of creativity, knowledge, and experience. When given a talent, I quickly learned that it is for me to share. My passion is praising Jesus, and worshiping with my peers. My goal is to help upcoming and seasoned musicians reach their full potential. I love music, I love to worship. Here is your opportunity to do this with me. This is a time for me to be practical, to go in depth, to be honest. To make a sound louder than my guitars or amp with my drive to see others succeed. This, is An Honest Sound. -AO
